Robotics Team Comes Out on Top at World Championship

For the second year in a row, one area robotics team has come out on top at the BEST World Championship.

“It is wonderful to receive the BEST Award for a second year in a row because it shows us that we are doing the right thing,” said Bryant Young, a member of the Homeschool Robotics team from Blue Springs. “It shows us that all our hard work was appreciated, but it also puts a lot of pressure on us to do well the next year and a huge responsibility on us to show that we deserved it.” Read more...

For the past few weeks, fifth grade students at Underwood Elementary have been learning about World War II and the Holocaust. Currently, they’re reading “Diary of Anne Frank” and “Number the Stars,” books about young peoples’ struggles during that time period. Blue Springs Freshman Receives Perfect ACT Score

Slava Butkovich received a 32 on the ACT as a seventh grader. As a student at the Blue Springs Freshman Center, she received a 35. Now a sophomore at Blue Springs High School, Slava has done what few others can, achieved a perfect score of 36 on the national assessment exam. Read more...
